What's also cool about this post is the typeface of your 1975 Olympia typewriter. The font immerses the reader in a kind of time warp. Your story and the typeface work together to take us back a few decades to the early days of programming and the Mac vs. Windows debate. Nice choice of machine for today's post. Very relatable. I have a feeling Lloyd would approve.

Full agreement from me on that point!

One of the things I liked about being in the service (USAF), was wearing the same uniform (one of five uniforms) every day. Should I be worried?

I think not having to ponder the clothing choice is a fine simplification and if you like it, go for it. I pretty much dress based on weather and comfort. I don’t think anybody looks to me for fashion advice.

I’m a Mac fan.

As a UNIX admin, I dumped Windows for the FreeBSD-based MacOS about 12 years ago and never looked back. No regrets. My first mac lasted 11 years. I used to buy PCs every 3. I also used to get addicted to games. Now there aren't any.

I like the font on this typewriter.

I have a deep respect for how the last line in many of your posts is so deft and always lands with such grace. Afterwards it often occurs to me that you either needed to get that right before typing with prepared notes or multiple retypes or you are just winging it and it pops up mid-flow... Both of which only adds to my deep respect.

I'm winging it damn near every time, but I keep an eye on the page length. I shoot for telling a compelling story on a single page, but some times I have to go to a second or third one.

I suppose when you know... you know. I'd be doing a little mini fist pump whenever that happens.

"nailed it, yussss."
